Up at 6am to beat the crowds, debate on whether to take the Fluffy's (that would be a no!), and scoring a primo car park - the dissention of following sculptures took up the next few hours at Swell - deets click here.
Not quite as good a previous years - the standout was def the four ladies 'Vertumnus' by Monte Lupo - deets click here.
The detail was amazing - I even took photos of the backs of their heads (is that polite?). And yes, art lovers, they are for sale - $2600 each. How fabulous would they look in a garden!
The second fave was the octopus(?) stuck on the hill - he was a blow-up and was moving in the breeze. I think he should stay! Wonder what he looked like for the tourists flying into Coolangatta?
Third fave - an even tie between the eyeballs everywhere, the seagull, the kalashnikov, the baby turtles and the bats - wow find another sentence with those same words in it please!
So next year get up early, leave the dogs at home and have fun. Oh and brekky this year was at Commune at Burleigh. Super yum, and again, scored it before the crowds.
